SAMBA桑巴舞被世界人民稱之為巴西的”國舞“，它是一種通過抖動跨、臀、雙腿、以及全身的運動型舞蹈，舞者熱情奔放，節(jié)奏鮮明歡快，呈現(xiàn)出來的舞蹈作品非常驚艷，擁有異域華麗的羽毛服飾搭配舞者天然的燦爛笑容，整幅畫面非常美。巴伊亞的圓圈桑巴舞（一種里約熱內(nèi)盧的桑巴）在2005年被聯(lián)合國教科文組織列入人類非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)代表作名錄。
有這樣的說法：人不分男女老幼，平時跳，節(jié)假日更跳；在舞臺上跳，在大街上也跳；白天跳，通宵達旦地跳。每當激越的音樂聲起，人們總是激情難抑，不禁擺腿扭腰；跳將起來，如醉如癡， 欲罷不能，欲休難止，桑巴舞也是全球最大的狂歡節(jié)——“巴西狂 歡節(jié)”的主要表演形式。

In 2005, UNESCO was included in the list of representatives of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
